Martin Buxton

So who are you then and what do you do?

Martin Buxton, I’m currently working on a number of projects with Tony Wicks under the banner of C2D4 (Comics 2 Die 4) Comics. We both come up with the ideas, I do the scripting and Tony does the hard part. For my day job… erm? stuff.

What have you done that I might recognise?

Last of the Chicken Heads and Jack in the Box. And Crowman which is out now.

What have you done that I don't know about?

All of the above? Tony and I also have some other ideas we’re kicking around for when we’ve got the time…

Tell me something you have not told anyone else.

I’m very good at looking stressed and overworked, while in reality I actually just spend my days looking up stuff on wikipedia!

Chocolate or Chips?

Chips.

What book do you wish you had worked on?

V for Vendetta, A Small Killing, Ethel and Ernest, Bone, Dragon Ball, Strangehaven, Cerebus, Grey, Halo Jones... the list is endless.

What book do you think would have been better if you had worked on it?

Sandman… I’d have put a few smutty jokes in there to lighten it up a bit!

What word do you think is underused?

Thanks!

Are you underpaid or overrated?

I’m neither at the moment!

JLA or Avengers?

I’m afraid I’m a big ignorant here, so can I skip this one?

Thanos or Darkseid?

Who?

Judge Dredd or Hellboy?

I’d have to say Hellboy. No Judge Dredd. Aaaaah! Can’t they just all get along?

The Darkness or Shadowman?

The Darkness!

Are any of your choices influenced by your current employer?

What time I start work and what time I go home. Oh and how much I get paid for the hours in between.

If you could be involved in telling a story featuring any two characters who would they be?

Hellboy and Bone!

If you were a sandwich what would your filling be?

Tasty!

Save the world or rule the galaxy?

Without a doubt I’d rule the galaxy. Then you’d all see…

One thing that annoys you about comic fans? (Only one please!!)

They can be a little bit set in their ways, which makes it hard for new and interesting ideas to get their heads in the trough.

CGC - blessing or curse?

I’ve tried to google what this is as I’m not good at acronyms, but I’m going to have to pass as I’m guessing it’s nothing to do with catering or golf.

Who sent this to you and do you like them or merely tolerate them?

Tony Wicks. Of course I like him, he draws the scripts I send him, only asks sensible questions about what I’m trying to say and rarely points out my very very poor grammar.

Who are you going to send this on too and do you think they will reply?

I would have said Tony, but he sent it to me…

Any words of wisdom before you go?

I’m all out of wisdom I am afraid.

Thank you and goodnight!

A Special Thanks to Nic Wilkinson for sending this out in the first place (Whatever Comics)
