Whatever Welcomes Laurence Campbell

>So who are you then and what do you do?

My names Laurence Campbell and I draw comics.

> What have you done that we might recognize?

Punisher Max and Wolverine for Marvel comics and a number of strips for 2000ad.

> What have you done that we might not know about?

I've done a number of comics for Caliber comics learning the trade as I was going.I also done a 3 part series for Image comics called the disciples.

> What are you working on now that we should look out for?

I'm just finishing issue 65 of Punisher Max. I've drawn the first Punisher arc after Garth Ennis leaves the book.

it's written by Gregg Hurwitz (Wolverine and Foolkiller for Marvel and a number of crime books).

It's a five issue arc starting in issue 61. After that I can't say what I'm working on yet.

> What piece of work are you most proud of and why?

I look to push myself with each new project. I was very pleased with the Punisher Max annual.

It was a turning point for me as it was the first time I had inked myself for over 10 years.. and I loved the experience.

I was very happy with the whole package. Before then I would say Breathing Space.

A nine part murder mystery set on the moon with lunar judges in 2000ad.

It was the first time I had worked with writer Rob Williams (Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Wolverine, 2000ad).

We later worked together on Wolverine 49 our first Marvel job.

> if I could buy only one thing you have worked on that you feel sums up where your coming from what should it be? Again it would have to be the PUNISHER Max annual. It defined the look I wanted on Punisher Max. If you liked the art on the annual you should like the art on the arc I'm working on.

> If you could work on any book / character in comics what would it be and why?

I like the darker side of comics, so characters like Punisher, Wolverine, Daredevil, Moonknight, Ghost rider, Batman etc. Although I prefer working with writers I like more than the characters.

> Who would you most like to collaborate with on an original story with and why?

i would like to work with Rob Williams and Mike Benson again. I also like reading comics by Jason Aaron, Grant Morrison,

Pete milligan, Duane Swiercznski, Andy diggle and Ed Brubaker.

> If you were allowed only five comics (does not have to be single issues a run counts as one) on a desert island (like Lost) what would they be?

Batman year one. Daredevil born again. Batman the dark knight returns. Captain Britain (Alan Moore, Jamie Delano and Alan Davis) 100 Bullets i could go on.

> Do you have a website / blog where we can find out more?

> If you were a sandwich what would your filling be?

Tuna and sweetcorn. I'm a simple man with simple needs.

> Chocolate or Chips?

Chocolate

> Judge Dredd or Batman?

Tough one. Batman if the story is strong, otherwise Dredd.

> If you could be granted one superpower which would you chose?

Flying.

> Save the world or rule the galaxy?

Save the world then rule the galaxy.

> What are you currently reading in the way of comics?

Loving Scapled, Walking dead, Criminal, 100 Bullets, Daredevil and punisher max. Oh and Ghost Rider has been good fun recently.

> If you could be involved in telling a story featuring any two characters who would they be?
