Jennifer Blood #1
By Garth Ennis & Adriano Batista
A new Garth Ennis comic, cant be bad…or can it?
We have The Boys and we had Preacher, that’s a good track record so what’s Jennifer Blood like?
On reading the first issue I was kind of hoping that it would be the one, but a housewife by day and a vigilante by night sort of reminded me of the Pro, only a cleaner less nasty pay per view version.
There just isn’t anything original about Jennifer Blood… Honestly!
A female Punisher type who hasn’t lost her family to the underworld…
Maybe she’s a made good Prostitute who decides to go out and take revenge, now that she has a (Her Husband) babysitter, or maybe its just a rehash of ideas that in the sum total are just not very good, But Honestly!
I would opt for the latter, as in not very good...Honestly!
I read somewhere That Ennis was looking to go down the Hitman street with this book, it misses the mark by a mile, Hitman was and is a landmark in Graphic storytelling, to compare Jennifer Blood with this is just not cricket…Honestly!
If I had to give Jennifer Blood an "honest" to Odin rating with no backhanders to sway my Opinion I would find it difficult to give it a 2/10.
However with greased palms a 3/10 might be achieved… but only just…Honestly!
I hope this book gets better i really do, it needs to.
If the constant use of the term … Honestly! Has irritated you in this review, then wait till you read the comic,
I got to read it for free, but you are going to have to part with hard earned cash….
Ever had the feeling you’ve been had? you will if you buy this comic ... Honestly!
A very well mannered review by the only slightly intoxicated well mannered boy.
