Eleventh Hour Volume 1

Rogers, Sharman, Donovan and Wickwire

Markosia and Orang Utan Comics.

Trade Paperback 80 Pages Black and White

First volume of the Eleventh Hour Anthology Series

Well what do we have here then, its another black and white anthology title, this time its by Markosia and Orang Utan Comics.

The first thing that is going to strike you about this book is the beautiful cover, it really is a striking piece which deserves to be mentioned.

But is it any good? Does it reach the benchmark set by Accent UK’s Zombies and Robots anthology? Well Yes it does and its does it in spades.

Some of the stories within are highly original beautifully illustrated and show a professionalism that at times is absent from the mainstream.

The Eye of the Strom was a superb example of this, a brilliant absolutely top notch twilight zone type tale with a very nice but wicked twist.

Seniors, again, brilliant, it reminded me of an Astro City story, and being compared to Kurt Busiek cant be bad, I just wish that there had been more than four pages.

Even the worst stories in this anthology were better than some of the supposed serious comics that some companies fob us off with, and sure a couple were a bit not quite there, but as an anthology it doesn’t matter, it’s the entire package that counts.

And this package gets a very solid 9.5/10, well done chaps.
